Maggies – Rescue Project

Rescue Project

Maggies

Maggies is a registered UK charity that does incredible work to support anyone with cancer and their families. They have centres alongside NHS hospitals across the country. We were approached by Maggies to help rescue a software project which was on the brink of collapse. A large percentage of our projects are rescue based. We relish challenges – and therefore often take on complex work that our competitors would not.

01

The situation

Maggies wanted to upgrade from an old CMS into a brand new CMS but unfortunately were left stuck after the initial contractor pulled out

02

The Opportunity

Helping a high profile UK based charity get their project on track, from the initial discussions, we identified the issues and provided a potential solution

03

The Outcome

We helped stabilise the project, while creating a pragmatic roadmap that enabled us to deliver Maggies original vision of success

01

The Situation

Maggies undertook a project with another software development company to upgrade from an old content management system (CMS) into a brand new CMS, but migrate the custom features that had been previously built. For around sixteen months, the original contractor had failed to deliver the project, which by far exceeded the promised delivery timescale.

02

The Opportunity

At A2ZTECH we enjoy a challenge. After listening to Maggies, we were confident that we could do this complex project. Our confidence was reaffirmed by stabilising and assessing the project landscape and delivery requirements. Creating a pragmatic plan in order to achieve success, enabled us to gain the trust from Maggies to start this exciting opportunity.

03

The Outcome

Without going into the technical, we successfully managed to build a content management system (CMS) to manage their network of websites within the time frame and budget. The building block structure CMS will allow staff at Maggies to easily update content and move elements around on their website.
