FAQs

What prospects usually ask.

  • WordPress, headless CMS, or fully bespoke — which is right for us?

Traditional WordPress is the right choice when you want a content team to publish and manage pages without developer involvement, and your design and integration needs are mainstream. A headless setup (WordPress, Sanity, or Strapi as the CMS, Next.js on the front) makes sense when you want modern performance, design flexibility, and structured content shared across web, app, or other surfaces. Fully bespoke is for products and platforms where the page-and-post model genuinely doesn't fit. We're language-agnostic — the right tool depends on what the site has to do, not what we happen to specialise in.
  • How long does a web development project take?

A focused marketing site with five to ten core pages typically runs eight to twelve weeks from kickoff to launch. A larger content platform or web application with custom backend, integrations, and multiple user roles is more like four to six months. We always plan for an iterative go-live — content and core pages first, secondary features added in subsequent releases.
  • How much does a custom website cost in the UK?

A WordPress or other CMS-based marketing site typically lands between £8,000 and £30,000 depending on design depth and integration count. A bespoke headless build on Next.js with a structured content layer is usually £25,000–£80,000. Web applications with custom backend, auth, and business logic start at £40,000 and scale with the platform's scope.
  • Do we own the code, design, and CMS afterwards?

Yes. Source code lives in a repository you own (GitHub, GitLab — your call), design files are yours, and the CMS is hosted on infrastructure you control with admin credentials in your name. There's no lock-in, no proprietary tooling, and the codebase is portable to another developer if you need to move on.
  • What does ongoing web development support cover?

Most clients move onto a monthly support retainer post-launch covering security patching, dependency updates, hosting and uptime monitoring, content edits, performance tuning, small feature work, and a defined response SLA for issues. Pricing is usually £500–£3,000 a month depending on traffic, complexity, and the depth of cover. Larger feature work is scoped separately.
  • How do you handle SEO during a web build?

SEO is built into the build itself, not bolted on afterwards. That means semantic HTML, fast Core Web Vitals scores, sensible URL structures, structured data (Organization, BreadcrumbList, Service, Article schema where relevant), proper canonical and robots handling, and an XML sitemap on day one. If you're migrating from an existing site we also handle URL mapping and 301 redirects so existing rankings don't get lost.
  • Can you work with our existing brand and design assets?

Yes — many of our builds start with an established brand, existing design system, or partial Figma library. We can pick up from any starting point: full brand and Figma file, brand guidelines but no designs, or just a logo and tone-of-voice doc. If something is missing we'll flag the gap and either fill it ourselves or recommend a brand specialist.
